APOSTILLE AUTHENTICATION OF SWEDISH DOCUMENTS IN IRELAND

WHAT IS APOSTILLE CERTIFICATION AND WHY IS IT REQUIRED?

Apostille certification is an internationally recognised way of legalising documents issued in one state, for official use in another state. The Hague Convention dated 5 October 1961 abolished the need to legalise foreign documents, and presented the Apostille certification which is an official government-issued certificate affixed to documents, allowing them to be legally recognised when presented in other states. The Apostille certificate is generally affixed, signed, and stamped on the reverse side of your document, and includes a raised seal and a serial number. The Apostille Certificate is generally issued by the state from which the document originates. The process of obtaining legalisation by Apostille for public documents entails authentication of both the origin of the document as well as the officials who have signed and stamped the document.  Depending on the document which requires legalisation the process can appear lengthy and complex, however, DocsBase Apostille & Consular Legalisation Services provide expert service and handle all arrangements from start to finish. Once the documents have been Apostille certified they are promptly returned to you by post or courier.

THE APOSTILLE CERTIFICATION PROCESS IN SWEDEN

Only Public Notaries in Sweden are authorized to issue Apostille certificates on public documents which are intended for use in another country that is a party to the Hague Convention.  When a document is Apostille certified according to the Hague Convention, this means that the document will then not need to be further legalized. Apostille certification can be issued for documents that are signed and issued by official capacity by Governments. Private or corporate documents which require Apostille legalisation in Sweden will first need to be legalised by a Public Notary, and once this has been completed, another Public Notary can provide the Apostille Certification.
